I Stripped!
One of the many proofs that it's a man's world - they don't have to shave their legs. :-/
I have been shaving my legs for years. Aside from being painless (save for the [tanga] times that I cut myself), shaving is faster than having my legs waxed. But that's where the good things end. Because shaving just cuts the hair off, it appears thicker when it grows back. The hair also grows back faster because the roots are still there. Just a day after shaving, I'd feel the stubbles of sharp little hair growing back. And the thing that I hate most is when the hair grows back, my legs feel super itchy.
Wanting to do away with all these, I decided some time ago to try waxing. This past weekend, I finally got up the nerve and actually did it. Yay for me!
Okay, so I bought a box of Dimples Natural Sugar Wax for my home waxing "adventure" (because I was totally scared) for a little over SGD12. It's 300g of microwaveable sugar wax, a spatula and 5 cotton strips.
The YAYs:
- It's water-soluble so it's easy to clean up after waxing.
- The wax can be used right away; heating is not needed as long as it is stores in room temperature thus preventing burns.
- Produces fairly good results.
The BOOs:
- It's a bit messy, leaving some sticky wax on your skin after stripping.
- There are only 5 cotton strips inside the box, when one would probably need way more for both (full) legs.
If you have (or can get) enough cotton strips, then I would recommend Dimples Natural Sugar Wax. But if, like me, you would depend only on the contents of the box, you might end up a little bit disappointed. Because of the lack of cotton strips, I waxed one leg on Saturday, washed and left the cotton strips to dry overnight, and then waxed my other leg on Sunday. Boo. The result is pretty good - one strip would take a lot of hair, leaving only a few for you to pluck out. Overall, I liked the Dimples Natural Sugar Wax and would use it again.
I love how my legs feel smoother after waxing. The difference between shaving and waxing is definitely noticeable. No more stubbles, longer-lasting results. Just a little pain for the price of vanity. Haha.
Goodbye, shaving!
